Ambulance Staff Information

Our staff are all trained with great attention to detail – we aim to make all staff members feel confident in their roles and ensure that they are all armed with all the knowledge they need t provide the highest level of care to all our patients. Below you can find a detailed breakdown of the levels of training our staff attend.

 

Patient Transport Services Staff Training
  • 3 Day First Aid at Work/FPOS Level 2
  • 2 Day Manual Handling (All Wales Manual Handling Passport Scheme, Modules A – H)
  • Health & Safety Level 1, 2 or 3
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Violence and Aggression
  • Intermediate Life Support
  • Administration of Medical Gasses
  • Automated Eternal Defibrillator training
  • Driver training (Where applicable)
  • Radio procedures
Emergency Medical Technician Training
  • First Person on Scene Level 3
  • Two Day Manual Handling (All Wales Manual Handling Passport Scheme, Modules A – H)
  • Health & Safety Level 1, 2 or 3
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Violence and Aggression
  • Intermediate Life Support
  • Administration of Medical Gasses
  • Automated External Defibrillator training
  • Driver training (Where applicable)
  • Radio procedures
  • Paramedic assistance
  • Spinal awareness
  • Patient monitoring
  • 12 Lead ECG recognition
  • Suction
Paramedics

All Paramedics are fully registered by the HCPC and relevant authorities. They complete their refresher training and all other work related skills assessments via the same registration procedure, ensuring that they are competent throughout their work with us.

Insurance

All staff are fully covered through All Wales Ambulance Services Limited insurers for Public liability, Product liability, Treatment liability and Professional indemnity and Medical malpractice. Level of cover is above and beyond the recommended level of our clients and is renewed on November 1st each year.
