First Aid at Work
This course is strongly suggested by the Health & Safety Executive for employers to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
It aims at making an impact on the quality of First Aid provided in the workplace, by allowing candidates the opportunity to study the recognition and management of common illnesses and injuries which occur in the workplace.
This certification is suitable for the first aiders in large or high risk professions such as industry, healthcare, education and other similar fields.

Pre Entry Course Requirements:
- No formal qualification needed, but previous knowledge of First Aid would be beneficial.
- Selected candidates must be reliable and likely to remain calm in an emergency situation. In addition, they should be able to cope with a rather intensive course of study. The course contains valuable practical sessions which candidates should be physically able to participate in.
- Candidates normal duties at work must allow them to respond to an emergency situation.
- Maximum of 12 candidates.
Course Duration:
- Candidates are required to obtain eighteen contact hours, excluding breaks, over the course of three days.
- The assessment is held on the end of day three.
- 09:00-17:00
- Dates can vary to suit your needs.
Certification
- HSE approved First Aid at Work Qualification
- HSE Strongly recommends that First Aiders in the workplace attend annual practical skills courses during valid certificated period, but this is not mandatory.
- Candidates will undergo a formal assessment of practical and theoretical skills at the end of day three.
- Re-Qualification within the three-year period would require the candidates to undergo twelve contact hours including examination. Outside of this period (including a 28 day grace period), candidates will need to undergo the full eighteen hours again.
