Manual Handling Awareness
This course is strongly suggested for almost all workplaces. Anywhere where Manual Handling is being utilized by staff members, even to a small degree, this knowledge will be beneficial for both your employees and your own risk assessments.
The course loosely covers topics presented by the All Wales Manual Handling Passport Scheme, a recognised course for manual handling. We can cater the course directly to your needs, covering whichever topics you feel most suitable for your employees.
What You Will Learn:
- Legislation relating to Manual Handling
- Handling inanimate loads
- Basic risk assessment
- Basic people handling skills
- Or a combination of any of the above.
Course Content:
- Course content is adapted to your own company’s needs; however we highly recommend that all candidates cover at least the first three topics outlined above.
Pre Entry Course Requirements:
- Suitable candidate in the workplace who will be engaging in basic manual handling activities.
- No formal qualification needed, but a reasonable level of learning abilities will be beneficial.
- All candidates must come wearing suitable attire for the day. Footwear must be comfortable and enclose the foot entirely, and candidates should be prepared to engage in at least a small amount of practical work. Candidates who come unsuitably dressed may be removed by the trainer.
- Maximum of 10 candidates.
Course Duration:
- Course duration depends heavily on the level of learning required by the company. For example, if no people handling skills are required, the course would most likely require three contact hours. However if people handling skills would be beneficial, we would require six contact hours.
